Our RealScience summer camp programs for campers entering 3rd-5th and 6th-8th graders mix the Real Discovery of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) with the Real Fun of a variety next-gen and traditional indoor & outdoor day-camp activities–with projects from beginner to advanced!
This year, RealScience & Express Yourself Camp is offered at the following locations:
+ Onsite, in Rockland County/Pascack Valley Area (@ SJR Campus-Montvale)
+ Onsite, in Ridgewood/Glen Rock Area (@ Camp LIA-Ridgewood)

VideoMakers STOP Animation: Art in Motion!

Program Description: Your child’s summer fun is about to get more animated! This one-week camp introduces campers to the world of stop-motion filmmaking, empowering them to use a variety of materials to create their own unique actors, locations, and props. They’ll sculpt clay to take shape and move, manipulate pipe cleaners to bend and act, as they discover the secrets of bringing their creations to life! Once they are done, they will have created a series of imaginative, stop-motion animations to share with pride
Eyes on Spies:

Program Description: Decode your child’s summer fun as they take on their next high-stakes spy mission! Our young agents will join forces to solve top-secret cases using modern tools and classic gadgets. They will fly drones, explore digital deepfakes using Minecraft Education, and unlock a variety of modern & classic spy skills. Each mission will bring new challenges that combine teamwork, technology, and plenty of spy-themed excitement. Ready to log into fun?

Program Description: Get your child’s summer fun in gear as they join their camp mates in engineering awesome LEGO robots that move, grab, and play! Our hands-on robotics camp opens the world of mechanical wonders as campers design and program amazing robotic machines: a working pinball machine, a robotic claw game, and more! Campers will practice their problem-solving and collaboration skills as they use gears, sensors, and code to bring machines to life!

Program Description: Your child can suit up for deep-sea LEGO robotic fun! This one-week camp will provide campers with new opportunities to create each day as they design and program robots to overcome underwater obstacles from the LEGO League challenge! They’ll use distance sensors, motorized arms, and other mechanical creations to find buried treasure or help a submarine explore the deep sea! Your child and their campmates will use creativity, problem-solving, and the fundamentals of real-world engineering & coding to bring their machines to life!

Program Description: Your child can craft their own fun this summer! Using Minecraft Education, campers will engage in designing and coding their own series of games, rock/paper/scissor, duck hunt, and even a Parkour course! Each day, they’ll use MakeCode block coding to bring their ideas to life, applying Minecraft’s unique mechanics to solve problems, think creatively, and bring ideas to life!

Picture Your Story!

Program Description: Get your child drawn into the summer fun of creating their own books and comics! Throughout the week, campers of all skill levels will use the digital design tool Krita to explore the art of visual storytelling. They’ll craft engaging plots, invent memorable characters, and bring their ideas to life. Each day will bring new opportunities to enhance their creativity and critical thinking through drawing and imagination!
InventionMakers:
Your Digital Prototype!

Ages: Separate programs for campers entering 3rd-5th grade or 6th-8th grade.
Program Description: Your child can enter a world where imagination meets innovation! Using Tinkercad and other design tools, campers will take on the role of entrepreneurs as they design, build, and promote their digital prototypes. Throughout the week, they’ll dive into 3D design, basic electronics, digital art, and more. By the end of the week, your young innovator will have a fully designed invention they’re ready to share with their fellow creators!

Silver Screen Magic!

Ages: Separate programs for campers entering 3rd-5th grade or 6th-8th grade.
Program Description: Live-action filmmaking fun right at your child’s fingertips! Campers will step in front of the camera and behind the scenes as the stars of their own films and skits, using a variety of props and creative setups to bring their stories to life. They’ll put their imaginations to the test as they develop essential video editing skills, discover green screen & sound effects, and more. This one-week camp puts your child in the director’s chair, creating their own short videos to share with family and friends!
