Express Yourself: 21st Century Literacy Skills!

STEAM-Based Approach Transforms Frustration to Real Fun!

Let your elementary and middle school-age child’s voice be heard!

Your child has their own unique understanding of the words and images they decipher each day, as well as evolving notions of how they'd like (and need) to communicate in words and images what they know and understand.
Our project-based Express Yourself! Learning Enrichment Lab courses harness your child’s unique understanding, providing opportunities for Real Learning and Real Fun as they zero in on reading, writing and/or visual literacy development in ways that transform it from mundane to meaningful 21st Century fun.
Throughout each Express Yourself lab course, your child will apply their range of evolving visual, reading and writing literacy skills, integrating real-world challenges in each lab session as their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) skills and self-confidence progress.

We invite you to learn more about the Little Ivy Academy Express Yourself! Difference by taking a look at our current Express Yourself! courses just to the right, or by contacting us at either 201.444.8400 or info@littleivyacademy.com.

We look forward to your child joining us for Express Yourself!

 ExpressYourself! Program Overviews

Our RealScience! after-school enrichment labs and summer camp prorgrams include:

GameMakers!

Our GameMakers! programs provide your child with hands-on opportunities to actively design and program their own interactive, animated stories & video games. As they learn age-appropriate programming languages and story/game design, your child and their lab mates will move from passively playing games and stories created by others to active, engaged creators of games and stories of their own.

AppMakers!

AppMakers! sparks your child's imagination, developing their emerging literacy, critical-thinking and STEAM skills, as they collaborate to overcome  practical challenges while creating and programming a full range of mobile commincation tools. Our small-group lab courses and summer camp programs provide each child hands-on opportunities to develop their HTML coding skills as they design & program their own functional smartphone apps, which they'll ultimately be able to share with friends and family on a variety of smartphone and tablet platforms, including iPhones and iPads.

VideoMakers!

Working hands-on with the tools of the digital filmmaker’s craft, your child will have begin to master the skills they'll need to develop their ideas into actual working scripts. . . discover and deploy a range of digital camera angles as they film their scenes. . . cut in special effects. . . and take charge of the digital console to edit the scenes together to capture their unique vision!

Each of our project-based VideoMakers! learning enrichment lab courses & Summer Camp programs is built upon a differentiated learning approach, providing each of our students with project opportunities that include both basic productions and more challenging production enhancements to accommodate their range of skill levels.
